Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has opened up on why President Bola Ahmed Tinubu kept fuel subsidy removal a secret before his swearing in.
He made the revelation on Friday in Lagos when he led the NGF to pay Sallah homage to Tinubu.
Shettima revealed that Tinubu kept his plans a secret because he knew that he would be persuaded to change them.
Speaking during the visit, Shettima said, “You kept it a top secret, it wasn’t part of your speech, you made that decision and kept it close to your heart because you believe if you had incorporated it into your speech, some people would try to persuade you not to do so.
“That is the courage of leadership, that is the audacity of hope, that is the effrontery to see into the future,”
