A Nigerian man, Odumayo Olufemi, has raised an alarm after allegedly receiving N100,000 from individuals he identified as bandits during a TikTok live session, claiming they later demanded N100 million from him.
Speaking in a video circulating on social media, Olufemi said he joined the live session on June 6 after the hosts’ bandits gave money to anyone who followed their page.
According to him, what initially appeared to be a joke became concerning after he received the money and was subsequently contacted with a demand for N100 million.
Olufemi appealed to Nigerians for help, alleging that after receiving the N100,000, he received a message demanding N100 million.
He also claimed that other participants in the live session received similar payments.
The incident was featured on the “What’s Trending” segment of Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday.
He said, “I have come to confess I càme across some bandits during a live session yesterday, 6th June.
During the live session, they promised anyone who follows their page money, and I followed the page. We thought it was a joke. He was a young man.
“As soon as I received the money, I got an email. Nigerians, please come to my rescue. They are demanding N100,000,000.00 from me.
“Please come to my rescue. I also received money. I was amongst the people who joined the live session. They gave me N100,000.00 and are now demanding.
