The scholarship programme was announced during a courtesy visit by the Saudi Ambassador to Nigeria, Yousef Bin Mohammed Al-Balawi, to the Minister of Information and National Orientation in Abuja. According to the government, the initiative reflects the strength of bilateral relations between the two countries and aligns with efforts to build capacity in critical sectors of the economy.
Officials noted that the programme targets key industries such as petroleum and solid minerals, which remain central to Nigeria’s economic diversification agenda. The scholarships are expected to create a steady pipeline of skilled professionals capable of driving growth across these sectors.
