Oyo South senator, Sarafadeen Alli, has emerged the winner of the Oyo State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election.
The lawmaker polled 578,143 votes, beating former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who got 19,193 votes and one other.
Adelabu resigned from his ministerial position to contest the Oyo State governorship seat.
DAILY POST reports that Adelabu had alleged that the primary election was manipulated.
Adelabu made the allegation on Thursday while interacting with newsmen after voting at his ward.
Speaking to journalists, the ex-minister said, “I must sound this note of warning that it is not this way in a lot of other wards.
“Reports reaching me state that there is a lot of gross misconduct in the other wards, ranging from various forms of infractions.
“In some wards, they conducted the election hours before the appointed time and wrote the figures they liked.”
